Beauty & Wellness in Barcelona

Whether you’re looking for a beauty treatment, a haircut, a massage, or a spa day, Barcelona offers a plethora of beauty and wellness centers to choose from. This way, during your visit to Barcelona, you can treat yourself and relax. And, if you’re a true beauty enthusiast, you can enjoy shopping at one of the many perfumeries and beauty addresses in the city. Discover now the best beauty addresses in Barcelona and the favorite local spots to pamper yourself!

Hairdresser in Barcelona

Although it might not apply to a short visit to Barcelona, it’s handy to know a good hairdresser if you’re staying for a while.

If Spanish isn’t your language yet, it’s best to go to an English-speaking hairdresser. In Barcelona, there are a few, but the best remains Anthony Llobet, who has multiple branches in Barcelona with English-speaking staff where you’ll be well taken care of. The salons (and barbershop) of Anthony Llobet are also a sight to behold: everything is vintage and retro. And the friendly staff speaks more than 11 languages!

If you want to be truly pampered and surprised, then go to Salón Toro at Passeig de Gràcia or Anna Ferrer at Travessera de Gràcia, where they offer ‘slow hair’: salons that really take their time with you. The Hair Salon 5o1a in the center of Barcelona is very impressive.

New trends like Japanese Hair straightening and Brazilian keratin treatment are available in Barcelona, for example at Shibuya World. For a real henna treatment, go to Henna Morena, where you are advised and treated with natural products that you can also buy.

Beauty Salon in Barcelona

If you want to be pampered from head to toe, go to a salón de belleza (beauty salon) for a beauty treatment. In Barcelona, there are plenty, but my recommendations for a real experience are the beauty salons of BoVanitas EspaiOpera Lounge, and LA 29 by Noé Puigpey.

For facials, peelings, mani-pedis, massages, body treatments, and hair removal, you can go to SK Style BarcelonaBlossom Beauty Lounge, or the beautiful The Spa Kitchen.

For a treatment with natural and organic care products and cosmetics, go to the beauty salon Mahash Barcelona or try the vegan beauty treatments (made from cruelty-free and natural beauty products) from Végere.

Spas in Barcelona

Barcelona houses various types of wellness centers where you can go to the spa or sauna. Most spas have a water circuit with hot tubs, hydromassage, dry and wet saunas, hydrotherapy showers, a relaxation area, gym, and treatment rooms where massages and treatments are offered.

Some spas are part of a hotel but are also open to the general public, like Yhi Spa at Meliá Barcelona Sky, SpaciOmm at Hotel Omm, Bliss Spa at W Hotel, Mayan Secret Spa at Hotel Claris, and 43 The Spa at Hotel Arts.

If you want to spend a whole day at the spa, I recommend buying a ticket for the Metropolitan Sagrada Família. In the changing rooms, you’ll find a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath, and a sauna. But that’s not all! You can also use the pools, spas, jacuzzis, the hammam, thermal shower, and ice fountain. They also offer various beauty treatments and massages, and you can even go to the solarium with a view of the Sagrada Família.

If you want to relax at the hammam, go to Rituels d’Orient or Aire de Barcelona. Both are renowned addresses in the city to fully relax.

Did you know?

In Spain, you generally keep your swimsuit on when you’re in the spa or hammam and cover your body with a towel in the sauna. It’s also often mandatory to keep your swimsuit on in the sauna.

Massages in Barcelona

If you don’t need a spa but still want a nice massage by a specialist, go to Ambrosia Spa for a nice massage, to Ismet for a natural treatment, to Centre Alfabia for all kinds of massages and physiotherapy, or to Ban Thai Masaje for traditional eastern massages.

Perfumery in Barcelona

Beauty lovers will be pleased with the huge selection of perfumeries in Barcelona, especially the huge Sephora  at the bottom of the El Triangle shopping center, near Plaça de Catalunya.

You can also go for the unique essences and original perfumes from The Perfumery and Labperfum. Perfect to buy as a souvenir!

Beauty Addresses in Barcelona

Pampering yourself in Barcelona, picking up a gift for someone, or buying nice souvenirs, you can do all that at one of the following stores. Many of them are on Rambla de Catalunya, so I would especially not skip that street!

  • Jo Malone (Rambla de Catalunya, 77): Jo Malone is a concept among beauty connoisseurs and the best place to get a gift. Here you’ll find the most amazing scented candles and colognes, always beautifully packaged.
  • Sabon (Carrer de València, 260): super delicious scrubs, soap, and hand cream can be found at Sabon. Also nice to give as a gift.
  • Kiehl’s (Passeig de Gràcia, 33): the New York beauty brand Kiehl’s has multiple branches in Barcelona, where you can buy wonderful skincare.
  • Rituals (Rambla de Catalunya, 62): you can also get your trusted Rituals products in Barcelona. They have multiple branches.
  • The Body Shop (Carrer de Portaferrissa, 11): for natural beauty products, you can visit one of The Body Shop’s stores.
  • Les Topettes (Carrer de Joaquín Costa, 33): for unique perfumes, soaps, creams, cologne, and candles in amazing packaging.
  • M.A.C. (Rambla de Catalunya, 87): for makeup and good advice, you can go to M.A.C. Cosmetics.
  • L’Occitane En Provence (Rambla de Catalunya, 61): the perfumes, facial, and body treatments from this French brand are highly recommended.
  • Alqvimia Store & Spa (Rambla de Catalunya, 24): experience a unique treatment based on the ancestral wisdom of alchemy and buy the products afterwards so you can relive this at home.
  • Sabater Hnos. Fábrica de jabones (Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, 1): soap shop with natural and handmade soaps. Many of the soaps have Barcelona as a motif, making this a great souvenir to take home.
