10 Best Hotels Near Barcelona Cruise Port

Barcelona is one of the most popular cruise ports in Europe, welcoming millions of travelers every year. As a local guide, one of the questions I’m asked most often is: “Where should I stay in Barcelona before my cruise?”

To help you find the best hotel for your stay before (or after) your cruise, I’ve put together this guide with my top hotel recommendations near the Barcelona Cruise Port, along with practical tips on where to stay and why.

Where to Stay Before Your Cruise

Whether you’re arriving the day before departure or spending a few extra days exploring the city, choosing the right hotel near the port can make your trip much more relaxed.

If convenience is your main priority, staying near Port Vell or close to the Barcelona cruise terminals is an excellent choice. Port Vell sits right at the edge of the historic city center, offering easy access to the cruise port while still being close to major attractions such as the Gothic Quarter, El Born, and La Rambla.

That said, Barcelona is a very walkable city, and taxis are plentiful and affordable. For this reason, I often recommend considering a stay in the Gothic Quarter, El Born, the Eixample or around Plaça de Catalunya instead. These areas allow you to fully experience the atmosphere of Barcelona, with restaurants, shopping, and cultural sights right at your doorstep.
