Best Ice Cream Shops in Barcelona

During the hot summer months, ice cream shops are an essential stop on any city walk through Barcelona, offering the perfect way to cool down. In this vibrant city, you can enjoy an amazing selection of Italian gelatos, refreshing ice pops, and delicious granitas. There are also traditional heladerías and gelaterias offering local treats such as orxata (tigernut milk), llet merengada (a cold milk and egg-white drink), batut (milkshake), and granissat (a fruity slush). If you’re not in the mood for a standard Ola ice cream (called ‘Frigo’ in Spain), head to one of the artisanal ice cream shops below. Here you’ll be welcomed with icy creations carefully crafted by hand.
